Meet the Staff

staff4Hi, I’m Carly  and I’m the Preschool Nursery Manager.  I have been working at the preschool since March 2008 when I was employed as Deputy.  I then became Manager in September 2008.  I have 15 years’ experience of working with children in the early years since I qualified with my NNEB and I have since worked in a variety of settings.  In 2010 I graduated from University with my BA (Hons) in Early Childhood studies and also achieved Early Years Professional Status (EYPS).  I live in Newmarket with my husband and our two young children.  I love spending time with my family and meeting up with friends.

Hi, I’m Amanda and I joined the team in 2008 as a parent helper when my daughter attended nursery.  I was employed later that year as a Nursery Practitioner.  I have a Level 3 qualification in Children’s  Care, Learning and Development which I completed in July 2009.  My role now includes Health and Safety and Physical Development Co-ordinator.  I live in Newmarket with my husband and two children and our fish Black and Lucky.  I enjoy reading, going out with friends and spending time at the beach with my children.

staff5AHi I’m Helen and I joined the Nursery in September 2013 as a Pre-school Nursery Practitioner.  This is my first job since taking a career break to have children.  I am a qualified primary school teacher and spent five years teaching Years One and Two at a school in Bury St Edmunds.  I am very familiar with the Nursery as my son and daughter both attended there and I was a parent helper one day a week when my daughter was there.  I live in Newmarket with my husband and two children.  I enjoy spending time with my family, baking, reading and doing craft activities.

staff2_aHi I’m Julie and I’ve been working at Ditton Lodge Nursery since 1994.  Prior to this I was part of the team of parent helpers at Nursery.   My first paid job at the Nursery wasn’t working with the children but as general helper, but as I enjoyed working with the children so much I continued to help voluntarily each week.  I then studied for my NVQ 2 in Childcare and Education, and in 2013 I gained my Level 3 qualification in Children’s Care, Learning and Development.  I have seen many changes over the years but am still here enjoying my work with the children and working with the fantastic staff team.   Outside of Nursery I am a congregational church member and am involved with the Girls Brigade Company.  I enjoy socializing with family and friends.  My children have flown the nest but I now have a lovely cat called Marmite!

Hi, I’m Arianne and I joined Nursery in December 2014.  I started volunteering in childcare settings when I was 14 and went on to study for my Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education when I was 17. I have worked in a variety of settings and have lots of experience in different childcare, I’ve been a nanny and a Montessori Class Assistant. I live in Chippenham with my boyfriend and our dog Rosco. In my spare time I like to be out and about wherever the day takes me (the dog goes everywhere with me) so you’ll usually find me at the beach or in the middle of a field with a tennis ball.

Anna photoHi, I’m Anna and I started working at Ditton Lodge Nursery in September 2015. I have been made to feel very welcome and the children are fantastic! I started working in childcare as a parent volunteer when my children attended our local Pre-school and went on to gain a paid position within the Pre-School in 2005. I worked here until July 2015.  During this time I went on to gain a Level 2 qualification in Childcare, Learning and Development, followed up with a Level 3 Diploma for the Young people’s Workforce: Early Learning and Childcare Pathway.  I live in Little Thurlow with my partner and our 2 children and our puppy Loki. When I’m not at work Loki loves lots of walks in the countryside.  I love to watch lots of football, socialising with friends and visiting my family in Kent.
